North American Indian Chert Spear-Head from Missouri, USA #5
An original, knapped chert (flint) North American Indian throwing-spear blade for sale. One of a group of chert blades discovered buried together in Missouri, USA, this weapon was likely used against large prey such as elk, or for warfare.
The age of this spearhead is unknown. In prehistoric times, flint blades were a valuable trade item, and in North America samples have been found as far afield as the Atlantic Coast, Kansas City and Louisiana.
This chert blade was lightly brushed with water before photography to accentuate its natural color.
